Jillian is an 8th-semester graphic design senior student from Long Island, New York.
- What semester is this for you?
- 8th
- When are you graduating?
- Spring 2018
- What’s your major?
- Graphic Design
- Where are you from?
- Long Island, NY
- What on-campus activities/organizations are you involved in?
- Was involved in SUBOG comedy committee but did a lot of graphic design work for USG.
- Any fun facts?
- A fun fact is that I’m currently studying abroad in London at Central Saint Martins for graphic design through the design program at UConn.
- Why do you want to be featured as a UConn Senior Spotlight?
- I hope to be featured in the UConn Senior Spotlight because I have embraced the culture which UConn has for years promoted to its students. I have a profound sense of pride and am deeply saddened by the realization that my time here is coming to an end, yet I am forever grateful for the opportunities presented to me and how those opportunities have fostered my development as both a graphic designer and as a young woman. UConn brought out the best in me and I’m forever grateful that I was accepted to the school of my dreams and was about to thrive on it.
- Any plans after graduation?
- Find a design firm that’ll hire me 🙂 and to travel more!
- What is your advice to incoming freshmen?
- My advice to incoming freshmen would be to make the most of every moment because four years pass by much quicker than you’ll expect them to.
- Where is your favorite spot on campus to study or hangout?
- My favorite place on campus to study is in the art building, but I also enjoy spending my time outdoors. The campus is beautifully scenic and I feel like sitting inside would be a waste of what this campus has to offer.
- If you were an undergraduate for one more semester, what would you do with the time?
- If I was an undergraduate for one extra semester, I would take courses I was interested in but never able to take during my time here.
